Everybody Gets to Play

Everybody gets to play™  is a national initiative that focuses on making sure that all children and their families have access to quality recreation experiences regardless of income, ability, gender or cultural background. To increase recreation opportunities for ALL children and families in Penticton, we must remove barriers to participation and create change throughout our community.

The top five barriers to participating in recreation in Penticton are:

1. Lack of Time (43%)

2. Work Schedule (37%)

3. Cost of Participation (30%)

4. Timing of Programs (30%)

5. Lack of Motivation (24%)

(EGTP survey results March 2007)

See Program Assistance (link…) section of this website for information on subsidy programs.
